Nodes
In this ongoing series of watercolors, I explore the intricate intersections of language, logo, and architecture. Coming from the multifaceted concept of "node" – a point where lines or pathways intersect or diverge. I’m heavily interested in creating a private language, a nuanced lexicon that invites viewers to engage with diverse interpretations. I use each brushstroke and color choice as a deliberate articulation within this visual dialect, which encourages contemplation and dialogue. Through the fluidity of watercolors, I aim to evoke a sense of fluid connectivity, similar to the nodes in a network. In this way, meaning and perception converge in a kaleidoscope of possibilities.
“These paintings, hung in a continuous row across the entrance wall, communicate the artist’s interest in logos, architecture, language, and the new forms of meaning that occur as a result of mistranslation slip-ups. They display geometric structures that appear to follow a logic pattern that, in seeking a uniform and steady tonality, paradoxically reject aesthetic perfection. ”
