Exploring the intersection of language, culture, and technology, tat skin slip tongue is a solo exhibition hosted in a domestic space orlando in Los Angeles. This exhibition explores the phenomenon of mistranslated Chinese character tattoos on Western bodies, engaging with the poetics of failure.

tat skin slip tongue comprises two distinct parts: tattoos sourced from the internet and tattoo images generated by AI (Stable Diffusion). The use of AI, which lacks a full contextual understanding of language, mirrors the generation of mistranslated tattoos, resulting in chance-operated end products that open up myriad possibilities for interpretation.

By playing with elements of concrete poetry and the drifts of legibility in language, tat skin slip tongue challenges our perceptions and highlights the complexities of cultural and linguistic translation.
