Precision and Accuracy

Precision and Accuracy is a series of sculptures that navigate the space between synonyms, using them as a metaphor for cultural differences. Through everyday objects and intangible materials—shadows, air, and language—I explore how meaning shifts and transforms as it travels across languages and cultures. The making of the piece is a dance between precision and inaccuracy. I began by printing letters and gently tearing the paper to follow their shape, before laser-cutting the exact form into plexiglass. Each mark and tear is an echo of intention, yet remains open to chance. Shadows and air, fleeting and unseen, further whisper of something not fully grasped, something always shifting, like language itself, which is never fixed but constantly in flux. This work is a quiet meditation on how cultures shape and reshape language in their own image, leaving traces of meaning that are felt, but never fully understood.
